If you are an SGC collector like me, you know that finding storage for their slabs is a challenge. They are just enough larger than PSA that the fit in most cases is just a bit too snug for my liking. And if your slabs are in sleeves, it’s usually a no-go. Enter BCW graded card cases. The BCW cases I have tested are durable, well-built, and fit all major grading slabs, including SGC.

After talking to a BCW rep and confirming alleged fit, I ordered a couple of 3-row BCW latching / locking graded card hard cases. The BCW cases are available in 2, 3, and 4-row formats. The 2-row would be a good choice for storage in a large safe.

Full disclosure, Cardhound has an affiliate agreement as well as a dealer account with BCW. We even have our own link and discount code, CHV10, that saves you 10% off of any order. But this is not a paid spot–just an honest review of stuff I actually paid for.

The Pros of the BCW Graded Card Cases

Here’s what I love about these cases:

  • Fits SGC like a glove. A teeny bit snug if sleeved, but you do not feel like you’re forcing the slabs into place.

  • Sturdy hinge, handle, and locking latch design. (2-row is combination; the others are keyed)
  • Fits everything else, too. PSA fit is actually a bit “loose” on the sides, but not enough to create any issues.

  • Dense, durable foam. None of that pick-apart garbage that eventually falls apart.
  • Foam dividers are included–handy for when the case is not full.
  • Stackable design

The Cons of the BCW Graded Card Cases

These aren’t really “drawbacks” since they apply to most comparable cases, but these are not watertight, not are they fire resistant. These are for portable storage only.

Lastly, I wish they offered different colors. Recently, a thief picked up a “plain black case” at a show and walked off undetected. More customization would enhance real-world security, as would a slot for an air tag. Maybe someone will make a case with DIY kits for mix and match panel colors. I bet big dealers would pay for custom branding–not that difficult.

Overall Rating

Overall, for the money, this case is exactly what I needed, and I’ll be back for more! For the price, it’s a solid 5/5 buy.
