How Does the EZ-Snap Holder for 1952-56 Topps Cards Work?

A few months ago Pro-Mold sent Cardhound some testers of their new EZ-Snap case for regular sized cards, and we reviewed it here. Consult that article for a full breakdown. But to recap, no magnets, and no screws! So how does it work?

The EZ-Snap is a friction-fit holder that basically “snaps” together. There are 2 posts on the back side, and 2 holes on the case front. To insert a card you pry the case apart much like a regular mag holder, though these require maybe a bit more force.

Cardhound feedback on the test models was that the fit was a bit loose. Now, with a refined fit, I’m glad to report that these new holders for 1952-56 Topps cards are snug and secure, as are the regular sized holders. I even dropped a holder several times (on carpet) and the card is safe and sound. I look forward to seeing if the fit stays tight after repeated uses.

Best Application

This particular model is for safe display and storage of 1952-1956 Topps cards. 54-55 Bowmans also fit but are a touch narrower, so there’s more “room” on the sides. Maybe they will also come out with a model that accepts a sleeved vintage-size card. They do offer such for regular sized cards.

I think these are suitable for any vintage-sized cards you would normally keep in a mag holder. It’s a clean look, UV protected for display needs, and easier to use and less old-fashioned looking than a screw-down type holder.
