Andy, very cool of you to join the forum here. Thank you for your time.
I collect vintage autographed cards and I recently sent off two batches of cards to be graded and authenticated by CGC/JSA. I love the integration and I look forward to submitting more cards to CGC!
You've handled a ton of amazing cards and memorabilia through your career. Aside from the T206 Wagner, what are some of the highlights that you've had the honor of grading/authenticating?
And on a personal level, what is a grail card for you?
Thanks!
Thanks for having me here!
Besides the T206 Wagner, there are 2 cards that I consider highlights in my grading career. One was a T206 Ty Cobb with Ty Cobb back. Very cool card with a great origin story, but that's for another day.
The other card was a T206 Doyle error. Beautiful and rare card.
Now, let's talk about the one big card that I haven't been able to grade (yet). I have not had the chance to grade a 1914 Baltimore News Babe Ruth.
Grail card for me? For me, it isn't about the value, it's the card itself, the story. I have to say I have been very lucky in obtaining most of my grail cards.
Right now, my grail card may not even exist. It is a card of Victor Starffin that is pre-1946. Currently there are no pre-war cards known of Starffin.
