Researching for an article I am working on . . . and I'm trying to do a deep dive into vintage grading beyond the obvious points you often hear ("PSA holds more value," "SGC slabs look better for vintage," etc.). Especially now that Collectors owns both PSA and SGC, it's interesting to ponder the future of grading and how / whether PSA and SGC will differentiate themselves (or possibly align, such as a combined PSA / SGC set registry??). If you have strong PSA or SGC (or someone or something else) opinions or cases to be made beyond those usual talking points, I would love to hear them!
One little nuance maybe not all that impt to vintage, but SGC has a 9.5 and PSA does not. PSA has an objectively "easier" 10 but the last few years seems like a comp to see who can grade the hardest. For ex 60/40 can gem at PSA--not likely at SGC.
