I’ve been working on my Hank Aaron run since I was a kid (early 80s). I’m down to the 54 Topps. I’ve seen some good looking 1s and 2s, but even those are pretty steep. Do folks see raw 54 Hanks around? Curious abt the prices. Thinking abt the risks - obviously work with someone I trust. Anything else to consider?

Aaron! I bought the best 1.5 I could find (but it was not cheap, like $2,100). But 1.5 are often so much nicer than 1's. If you go for a 1 consider a really grungy inexpensive one : ) Anything raw I would assume altered at this point--so as long as you only PAY "A" price at low grade, and you're OK with an altered grade, that could be a good deal. Hit me up if you need any help authenticating one. (Avoid Marketplace etc. but you know this!).

Thanks, Matt. I’ll keep you posted. I’ll start upgrading once I get the 54 (that’s what I’m telling myself)…I like the idea of knowing what an A would go for. Good stuff.

(I would actually sell MY SGC 1.5 if you are ever interested--I've been wanting to upgrade to a 3 or so. LMK)

I picked up a raw 54 Hank from a local guy a few years ago. The only reason I felt comfortable buying a card like that raw was because I was able to meet up with the seller and inspect the card in hand. The market was certainly different in 2022 compared to now but I paid $2,250. Hope this helps!

@vintagecardfiend how much different is the market now? That seems like a solid price still.
