Cardhound Seeks Business Partner

Cardhound has had a great first 1.5 years of life. And while I am happy to keep operating the site mainly as a vintage-focused blog, there is bigger potential for the site and its content.

To that end, Cardhound is seeking a hobby-related business partner to expand, grow, and create more revenue for us both. Ideally this would be a mutually beneficial deal where my web traffic and your business / idea join forces to sustain and grow together.

What Might This Look Like?

I have some ideas but would also like to hear yours. The simplest joining of forces would be with someone who wants to start a robust Shopify-type store, or build out a multi vendor marketplace of some kind. Cardhound would also be great blog content for a small auction house or any other hobby business.

Ideally, this partnership would form between Cardhound and someone I already know. I have too many hobby pals and contacts to reach out to individually, so please excuse this article if it seems a bit formal or impersonal. But my friends run card shops, online businesses, auction houses, hobby supply businesses, hobby services, and more. You know who you are. Get in touch with ideas: matt@cardhoundvintage.com

If a larger-scale partnership does not materialize–or even if it does–Cardhound is always looking for sponsors, advertisers, affiliate deals, and the like. The site has a dedicated stable of regular sponsors including Boca Card Subs, T206Cards, Legacy Cardz, Burl’s, and more. I’m thankful for those relationships and always seeking out more synergy (excuse the corporate buzzword).

What Does Cardhound Bring to the Table?

I think the site has a lot to offer to a partner, including but not limited to:

  • Admit it–it’s a good-looking site. And it’s on a solid, secure platform with primo hosting that can be upgraded if needed.
  • A solid mailing list comprised of really great vintage folks.
  • Many existing features (a underutilized but good Board, Classifieds) and easy to scale up or add more.
  • 100+ well-written, searchable blog posts, many of which rank high for SEO / Google search.
  • Solid web traffic–specifics available to interested parties.
  • Site owner (me) with 40+ years in the hobby, a PhD in English, SEO knowledge, and decades of experience as an independent contractor and small business owner. I also operate and / or moderate vintage-focused Facebook groups with members ranging from 1,000 to 50,000+.
